Balconagar, 17 August 2026: Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, a unit of
Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited, celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with employees and business partners, reaffirming the commitment to nation building and India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat. The celebration paid tribute to the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and recognised the collective responsibility of citizens and institutions in contributing to the nation’s progress.

Mr. Rajesh Singh (Chief Executive Officer and Whole-time Director, BALCO) hoisted the national flag at the Administrative Building premises. The ceremony was followed by the national anthem and an address to employees.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Rajesh Singh said, “Independence Day reminds us that nation building is a continuous responsibility. For over six decades, BALCO has contributed to India’s industrial development, and as we progress towards 1 million tonnes of annual aluminium production capacity, our role in this journey becomes even more significant. Our employees and business partners remain our greatest strength. By putting safety first, strengthening quality, embracing innovation, protecting our environment and contributing to communities, we can create lasting value for the nation. On this Independence Day, let us renew our commitment to working safely, learning continuously and embracing new ideas, because every improvement we make at BALCO contributes to a stronger and more self-reliant India.”
The occasion also marked the launch of ‘BALCO Samachar’ the company’s revived communication property aimed at strengthening BALCO’s connection with its nearby communities. This bi-weekly new bulletin publication will bring together stories on BALCO’s business developments, achievements, initiatives and community engagement, enabling communities across Korba, Gevra, Kusmunda, Katghora and Deepka to stay informed about the company’s activities and progress. The company also showcased a special Independence Day video highlighting BALCO’s journey over the decades and its contribution to India’s industrial growth and nation building.

As part of the celebrations, Mr. Rajesh Singh, along with senior officials also visited BALCO Hospital and interacted with patients. Fruits were distributed to patients, wishing them a speedy recovery. Appreciating the contribution of doctors, nurses and healthcare personnel, Mr. Rajesh Singh acknowledged their commitment to providing quality healthcare services and supporting the well-being of employees and the wider community.

बालकोनगर, 17 अगस्त 2026। वेदांताएल्यूमिनियम मेटल लिमिटेड की कंपनी भारत एल्यूमिनियम कंपनी लिमिटेड (बालको) ने कर्मचारियोंऔरबिजनेस पार्टनर्स की उपस्थिति में देश का 80वां स्वतंत्रता दिवस उत्साह और गरिमा के साथ मनाया। इस अवसर पर बालको प्रबंधन ने स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों के अमूल्य योगदान को स्मरण करते हुए उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि दी। बालको के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी एवं पूर्णकालिक निदेशक राजेश सिंह ने प्रशासनिक भवन परिसर में ध्वजारोहण कर समारोह का शुभारंभ किया।

राष्ट्रगीत एवं राष्ट्रगान के उपरांत सीईओ राजेश सिंह ने कर्मचारियों को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, “स्वतंत्रता दिवस केवल उत्सव का अवसर नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्र निर्माण के प्रति अपने दायित्वों को दोहराने का संकल्प भी है। बालको की छह दशकों से अधिक की यात्रा देश के औद्योगिक विकास और राष्ट्र निर्माण में योगदान की यात्रा रही है। आज हम 10 लाख टन वार्षिक एल्यूमिनियम उत्पादन क्षमता की दिशा में आगे बढ़ रहे हैं। हमारी सबसे बड़ी ताकत हमारे कर्मचारी और बिजनेस पार्टनर्स हैं। सुरक्षा, गुणवत्ता, नवाचार, पर्यावरण और सामुदायिक विकास हमारी प्राथमिकताएं हैं। आइए, इस स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर हम सुरक्षित और बेहतर काम करने, लगातार सीखने और नए विचारों को अपनाने का संकल्प लें। हमारा हर प्रयास बालको के साथ-साथ देश के विकास में योगदान देता है। मिलकर हम एक मजबूत, सुरक्षित और बेहतर बालको का निर्माण कर सकते हैं।”

इस अवसर पर सीईओ राजेश सिंह ने ‘बालको समाचार’ का शुभारंभ किया। ‘बालको समाचार’ के माध्यम से कोरबा, गेवरा, कुसमुंडा, कटघोरा और दीपका सहित आसपास के क्षेत्रों तक बालको की गतिविधियों, विकास कार्यों और उपलब्धियों से जुड़ी जानकारियां पहुंचाई जाएगी। साथ ही कंपनी द्वारा स्वतंत्रता दिवस पर वीडियो का प्रदर्शन किया गया, जिसमें बालको की विकास यात्रा और राष्ट्र निर्माण में उसके योगदान को प्रदर्शित किया गया।

राजेश सिंह एवं वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने बालको अस्पताल में जाकर मरीजों को फल वितरित किए। उन्होंने मरीजों का हालचाल जाना और उनके शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की कामना की। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने चिकित्सकों, नर्सिंग एवं चिकित्सा कर्मियों की समर्पित सेवाओं की सराहना करते हुए सभी के लिए गुणवत्तापूर्ण स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं उपलब्ध कराने में उनके योगदान के लिए आभार व्यक्त किया।

बालको का 80वां स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह राष्ट्र के प्रति गौरव, सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी और ‘विकसित भारत’ के निर्माण में निरंतर योगदान देने की कंपनी की प्रतिबद्धता का प्रेरणादायी प्रतीक रहा।

कोरबा। कोरबा पुलिस ने मुखबिर सूचना और तकनीकी साक्ष्यों के आधार पर डकैती की तीन घटनाओं का खुलासा किया है। पुलिस ने इस मामले में चार आरोपियों और एक विधि से संघर्षरत बालक को गिरफ्तार किया है। आरोपियों के कब्जे से डकैती में इस्तेमाल मोटरसाइकिल भी जब्त की गई है।

पुलिस के अनुसार, बीते दिनों बांकीमोंगरा थाना क्षेत्र के बलगी सबस्टेशन और सूराकछार खदान, साथ ही दीपका थाना क्षेत्र की दीपका खदान में हथियारों के बल पर डकैती की वारदातें हुई थीं। बदमाशों ने कर्मचारियों से मारपीट कर नकदी और कीमती सामान लूटा था।

इन घटनाओं की गंभीरता को देखते हुए बाँकीमोंगरा थाने में अपराध क्रमांक 148/2026, 131/2026 और दीपका थाने में अपराध क्रमांक 01/2026 भारतीय न्याय संहिता (BNS) की विभिन्न धाराओं के तहत दर्ज किए गए। पुलिस अधीक्षक के निर्देश पर एक विशेष टीम गठित की गई, जिसने जांच शुरू की।

टीम ने मुखबिर तंत्र सक्रिय किया और संदिग्धों पर निगरानी रखी। तकनीकी विश्लेषण और सीसीटीवी फुटेज की मदद से पुलिस ने दबिश देकर आरोपियों को गिरफ्तार किया।

गिरफ्तार आरोपियों में राजपाल चौहान (22), निवासी जामनीमूड़ा पाली; फिरोज मेमन (27), निवासी भिलाईबाजार, हरदीबाजार; निकेश कुमार कश्यप (21), निवासी शुक्लाखर, थाना बांकीमोंगरा; और होरीलाल केवट (24), निवासी शांतिनगर, थाना कुसमुंडा शामिल हैं। इनके साथ एक विधि से संघर्षरत बालक को भी पकड़ा गया है।

पूछताछ में आरोपियों ने तीनों डकैती की घटनाओं में अपनी संलिप्तता स्वीकार की। पुलिस ने उनके कब्जे से वारदात में इस्तेमाल की गई मोटरसाइकिल जब्त कर ली है। मुख्य आरोपियों को न्यायालय में पेश किया गया, जहां से उन्हें जेल भेज दिया गया है। इस गिरोह के कुछ अन्य साथी अभी फरार हैं, जिनकी गिरफ्तारी के लिए लगातार दबिश दी जा रही है।
