BALCO Welcomes Families of Employees to Witness World Class Production of Aluminium at its Plant
Balconagar, – Bharat Aluminium Company Limited (BALCO), India’s iconic aluminium producer and a unit of Vedanta Aluminium, organized a 4-day family drive for its employees, offering a unique opportunity to witness the making of aluminium at BALCO, India’s first public sector undertaking (PSU) in the aluminium sector. The initiative aimed at offering firsthand experience of the journey of aluminium production to the families of aluminium makers, building a stronger connection, while evoking a deeper sense of belonging.
The initiative gave an opportunity to the families to witness the production process through a comprehensive tour of the plant operations. The tour commenced with a mandatory safety briefing at the Centralized Security Operation Centre, where the families were informed about the stringent security protocols that safeguard BALCO. The visit showcased the entire lifecycle of aluminium production, and the visitors observed the smelting of alumina into molten aluminium in the potlines. Along with this, they also learned about the production of carbon anodes that is a critical part of the production process. Later, they visited the 1200 MW power plant where power is generated and distributed to energize the entire plant. The journey concluded at the cast house, where molten metal is transformed into finished products such as aluminium ingots, rolled products, wire rods, and primary foundry alloys. These products then find critical applications in core industries.

Shri Nripendra Nath Assumes Additional Charge as SECL Director (Technical) – Projects & Planning
Shri Nripendra Nath has assumed the additional charge of Director (Technical) – Projects & Planning at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).
Shri Nath is currently Director (Technical) at CMPDI.
Bilaspur/Korba. The SECL family extended a warm welcome to Shri Nripendra Nath and conveyed its best wishes on his assuming the additional responsibility. On the occasion, he paid a courtesy visit to Shri Ramesh Chandra Mohapatra, Director (Technical – Operations), SECL.
About Shri Nripendra Nath
Shri Nripendra Nath graduated from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, in 1988. He began his professional career with the N.K. Area of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and made significant contributions to the World Bank-assisted KDH Project for nearly two decades.
During his long and distinguished career, Shri Nath has held several key positions, including Project Officer in various mines of Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) and Regional General Manager of the Magadh-Sanghamitra Area of CCL. During his tenure, the Magadh-Sanghamitra Area achieved the distinction of entering the prestigious 20-million-tonne production club.
An Australia-trained and SIMTARS-certified trainer, Shri Nath has played an important role in imparting mine safety training across various subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. He has also made significant contributions to the formulation and implementation of Mine Safety Management Plans.
Shri Nath also possesses valuable international exposure in the mining sector. In 2024, he was a member of the AGTMP delegation that visited several European countries, providing him with exposure to global mining practices and modern mining technologies.
Shri Nath is currently serving as Director (Technical) at Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI), a position he assumed on 31 October 2025. With extensive experience in mining operations, project implementation, planning and mine safety, he brings a rich blend of technical expertise and managerial experience to his additional responsibility at SECL.

कोरबा। जिला कांग्रेस कमेटी पिछड़ा वर्ग प्रकोष्ठ शहर के जिलाध्यक्ष गजानंद प्रसाद साहू का 11 सितम्बर को जन्मदिन था। श्री साहू के जन्मदिन पर जिला कांग्रेस कार्यालय में छत्तीसगढ़ विधानसभा के पूर्व अध्यक्ष एवं नेता प्रतिपक्ष डॉ. चरणदास महंत पहुंचे और श्री साहू को सुदीर्घ एवं स्वस्थ जीवन की शुभकामनाएं प्रेषित करते हुए बुके भेंट किया।

घर में भी परिजनों ने मनाया जन्मदिन
गजानंद प्रसाद साहू का परिवार काफी विस्तारित है और 11 सितम्बर को निजनिवास में परिजनों ने उनका जन्मदिन खासतौर से उल्लास के साथ मनाया। पुत्र लक्ष्मीकांत साहू ने बताया कि पापा के दीर्घायु एवं स्वस्थ तथा सुलभ जीवन के लिए परिवारजनों ने प्रार्थना की और पूजा-अर्चना कर उनके सतत् सौभाग्य के लिए ईश्वर से आशीर्वाद मांगा। केक काटकर पापा के जन्मदिन को अच्छे से सेलिब्रेट किया गया।
बिलासपुर/कोरबा। सेंट्रल माइन प्लानिंग एंड डिजाइन इंस्टीट्यूट लिमिटेड (सीएमपीडीआई) के निदेशक (तकनीकी) नृपेंद्र नाथ ने साउथ ईस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड (एसईसीएल) के निदेशक (तकनीकी) – योजना/परियोजना का अतिरिक्त प्रभार ग्रहण किया है। एसईसीएल परिवार ने नई जिम्मेदारी संभालने पर उनका हार्दिक स्वागत करते हुए उन्हें बधाई एवं शुभकामनाएँ दीं। इस अवसर पर उन्होंने एसईसीएल के निदेशक तकनीकी (संचालन) रमेश चंद्र महापात्र से सौजन्य भेंट की। बड़ी संख्या में विभागाध्यक्ष एवं अधिकारी उपस्थित रहे।

नृपेंद्र नाथ ने 1988 में आईआईटी (आईएसएम), धनबाद से स्नातक की उपाधि प्राप्त की। उन्होंने अपने करियर की शुरुआत सेंट्रल कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड (सीसीएल) के एन.के. क्षेत्र से की और विश्व बैंक सहायता प्राप्त केडीएच परियोजना में लगभग दो दशकों तक महत्वपूर्ण योगदान दिया।
अपने लंबे कार्यकाल के दौरान उन्होंने ईस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड (ईसीएल) की विभिन्न खदानों में परियोजना अधिकारी तथा सीसीएल के मगध-संघमित्रा क्षेत्र के क्षेत्रीय महाप्रबंधक सहित कई महत्वपूर्ण पदों पर कार्य किया। उनके कार्यकाल में मगध-संघमित्रा क्षेत्र ने प्रतिष्ठित 20 मिलियन टन उत्पादन क्लब में स्थान बनाया।
ऑस्ट्रेलिया में प्रशिक्षित सिमटार्स-प्रमाणित प्रशिक्षक के रूप में श्री नाथ ने कोल इंडिया लिमिटेड की विभिन्न अनुषंगी कंपनियों में खान सुरक्षा प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई है। खान सुरक्षा प्रबंधन योजनाओं के निर्माण एवं क्रियान्वयन में भी उनका महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा है।
नृपेंद्र नाथ को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर भी खनन क्षेत्र का अनुभव प्राप्त है। वर्ष 2024 में वे एजीटीएमपी प्रतिनिधिमंडल के सदस्य के रूप में कई यूरोपीय देशों के दौरे पर गए, जहाँ उन्होंने वैश्विक खनन प्रथाओं एवं आधुनिक तकनीकों का अनुभव प्राप्त किया।
वर्तमान में वे सीएमपीडीआई के निदेशक (तकनीकी) के पद पर कार्यरत हैं और 31 अक्टूबर 2025 को उन्होंने इस पद का कार्यभार ग्रहण किया था। खनन परिचालन, परियोजना क्रियान्वयन, योजना एवं खान सुरक्षा के क्षेत्र में उनको व्यापक अनुभव है I
