Company records growth across all three key parameters with 176.2 MT production, 178.6 MT offtake and 364.3 MCuM overburden removal

Bilaspur/Korba. South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has achieved a significant milestone in FY 2025–26, emerging as the only subsidiary of Coal India Limited to register positive growth across all three key performance parameters—coal production, offtake and overburden removal (OBR).

Strong Performance in Production, Offtake & OBR

SECL recorded coal production of 176.2 million tonnes, reflecting a growth of 5.26% (8.8 MT) over the previous year.
Coal offtake stood at 178.6 million tonnes, registering a growth of 4.6% (7.9 MT).
Rail despatch witnessed a 16% increase, while despatch through First Mile Connectivity (FMC) grew by 28%.
With 364.3 million cubic metres of overburden removal, SECL achieved its highest-ever OBR, strengthening future coal readiness.
In addition, the company achieved a landmark in land acquisition with 358 hectares acquired, marking a remarkable 867% growth over the previous year.

Environment & Sustainability

SECL continued its strong focus on environmental stewardship. During the year, 13.96 lakh saplings were planted, including Miyawaki-based dense plantation initiatives.
The company commissioned 43.78 MW of solar capacity, leading to a reduction of approximately 41,200 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
Further, 408 lakh kilolitres of mine water was utilised, enabling irrigation across more than 3,800 hectares of land.

Capacity Expansion & New Projects

Through environmental clearances, SECL secured 2.16 MTY incremental capacity, while Terms of Reference approvals paved the way for 39.02 MTY future capacity addition.
Key project approvals include Durgapur Opencast Project (10 MTY) and Amritdhara Underground Project.

Coal Quality & Transparency

Coal grade confirmation improved significantly from 68% to 75%.
The company’s digital initiative ‘DigiCOAL’ strengthened real-time monitoring and transparency, earning recognition at the national level by the Central Vigilance Commission.

Employment & Social Inclusion

SECL provided employment to 511 dependents, marking its highest-ever figure with a 24% growth.
Additionally, 754 Project Affected Persons (PAPs) were provided employment, along with recruitment of 42 Mining Sirdars.

Transparent Procurement & Governance Excellence

Procurement worth ₹25,799 crore was undertaken through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), achieving record performance.
SECL secured the top position for the third consecutive year in Special Campaign 5.0.

Technological Innovation & Infrastructure
SECL became the first coal PSU in India to implement paste fill technology, marking a major step towards safer and sustainable underground mining.
Average loading reached 53.2 rakes per day, strengthening coal evacuation efficiency.
Rail corridor projects further enhanced the company’s logistics and evacuation network.

Diversification Initiatives
SECL made notable progress in diversification areas including coal gasification, ultra-supercritical thermal power, coal washery development, critical minerals exploration, rare earth extraction and hydro-based energy solutions—aligning with future energy requirements.

Corporate Social Responsibility
In FY 2025–26, CSR projects worth ₹365.39 crore were approved across key sectors such as healthcare, education, environment and livelihoods, reaffirming SECL’s commitment beyond mining.

Women Empowerment
SECL set new benchmarks in gender inclusion by establishing the first all-women dispensary and all-women central store unit in the coal industry.

​कोरबा/गेवरा। साउथ ईस्टर्न कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड (SECL) गेवरा क्षेत्र के अंतर्गत आने वाले ग्राम पंचायत अमगांव के भू-विस्थापितों ने मुआवजा भुगतान में हो रही देरी और प्रबंधन की संवेदनहीनता के खिलाफ मोर्चा खोल दिया है। वर्षों पहले जमीन और मकान अधिग्रहित किए जाने के बावजूद आज भी दर्जनों परिवार अपनी जायज राशि के लिए दर-दर की ठोकरें खाने को मजबूर हैं ।

​प्रमुख मुद्दे और विस्थापितों का दर्द

​विभिन्न आवेदनों के माध्यम से विस्थापितों ने अपनी व्यथा सामने रखी है:-
भुगतान में अकारण देरी:- ललित कुमार जैसे प्रभावितों का कहना है कि उनकी संपत्तियों का अर्जन हो चुका है, लेकिन पिछले 6 महीनों से मुआवजे की राशि बिलासपुर मुख्यालय स्तर पर अकारण रोकी गई है। इससे परिवारों के सामने भरण-पोषण और आर्थिक संकट की गंभीर स्थिति पैदा हो गई है ।
न्याय के लिए पिता का संघर्ष:- ग्राम अमगांव के ही जोहनराम निर्मलकर ने बताया कि उनकी दिवंगत पुत्री स्व. लता के नाम पर निर्धारित मुआवजा राशि 3 साल बीत जाने के बाद भी नहीं मिली है। उन्होंने घोषणा की है कि यदि समाधान नहीं हुआ तो वे 11 अप्रैल 2026 से अपने पूरे परिवार के साथ मुख्य महाप्रबंधक कार्यालय के समक्ष अनिश्चितकालीन धरने पर बैठेंगे ।
रोहिदास मोहल्ला के साथ भेदभाव का आरोप:- ग्राम अमगांव के रोहिदास मोहल्ला निवासी बसंती चैतराम समरू और अन्य ग्रामीणों ने आरोप लगाया है कि पूरे गांव का पुनर्वास और मुआवजा हो चुका है। लेकिन दलित वर्ग के इस समूह को जानबूझकर उपेक्षित रखा जा रहा है 2023 में मूल्यांकन होने के बावजूद उन्हें आज तक लाभ नहीं मिला है ।

​आर-पार की लड़ाई का ऐलान

​विस्थापितों ने दो टूक शब्दों में कहा है कि प्रबंधन का रवैया न केवल संवेदनहीन है, बल्कि अन्यायपूर्ण भी है।कागजी कार्रवाई पूरी होने के बाद भी राशि रोकना उनकी मानसिक प्रताड़ना का कारण बन रहा है ।

​हमने बार-बार गुहार लगाई, लेकिन प्रबंधन की उदासीनता खत्म नहीं हो रही। अब हमारे पास आंदोलन के अलावा कोई रास्ता नहीं बचा है, यदि शीघ्र भुगतान नहीं हुआ तो होने वाले उग्र आंदोलन और किसी भी अप्रिय स्थिति की समस्त जिम्मेदारी SECL प्रबंधन और स्थानीय प्रशासन की होगी ।

प्रभावित ग्रामीण ललित कुमार जोहनराम व अन्य
​विस्थापितों ने अपनी शिकायतों की प्रतिलिपि कलेक्टर कोरबा, अनुविभागीय अधिकारी (राजस्व) पाली और पुलिस प्रशासन को भी भेज दी है। अब देखना यह है कि प्रशासन और SECL प्रबंधन इन गरीबों की सुध लेता है या आंदोलन की आग और भड़कती है ।

कोरबा। जिला कांग्रेस अध्‍यक्ष मुकेश राठौर, नेता प्रतिपक्ष कृपाराम साहु, पार्षद रविसिंह चंदेल, नारायण कुर्रे, बद्री किरण, सुकसागर निर्मलकर, सुभाष राठौर, डॉ. गोपाल कुर्रे आदि ने बुधवारी बाजार के पास निर्माण कराये जा रहे विकास कार्यों का निरीक्षण किया । निरीक्षण के दौरान अनेकों अनियमितता पाई गई । 

नेता प्रतिपक्ष कृपाराम साहु ने सवाल उठाया कि बुधवारी बाजार के पास लोहे का ग्रिल लगाकर थर्मोप्‍लास्‍ट (नो पार्किंग) लगाया गया है, वहीं नाली निर्माण का कार्य प्रगति पर है । इस पर कृपाराम साहु ने कहा कि शीघ्र ही यहॉं गौरव पथ बनना है, जो प्रक्रिया में है। गौरव पथ के निर्माण के समय यहॉं लगे लोहे के ग्रील, थर्मोप्‍लास्‍ट और नाली का टूटना लगभग तय है । ऐसे में जनता के पैसे का दुरूपयोग किस लिए यह समझ से परे है । 

जिला कांग्रेस अध्‍यक्ष मुकेश राठौर ने बताया कि कोरबा नगर निगम में पिछले 10 वर्षों से ईंट से नाली निर्माण बंद है । पिछले 2 कार्यकाल के दौरान कोरबा निगम क्षेत्र में जितने भी नालियों का निर्माण हुआ, वह सब सीमेंट, छड़, क्रांक्रिट से हुआ है लेकिन बुधवारी बाजार में जल्‍दबाजी में राखड़ ईंट से नाली का निर्माण कराया जा रहा है, इस निर्माण से कमीशनखोरी की बू आ रही है । कांग्रेस के विपक्ष के पार्षदगण इस मामले की जांच कर जिम्‍मेदारों पर कार्यवाई की मांग किया है ।
