Over 16,000 People Perform Yoga Across 30+ Locations in SECL on International Day of Yoga 2025
“Yog Sangam” Grand Celebrations Held Simultaneously at SECL HQ, Mines, Offices & Schools Across Operational Areas
Bilaspur/korba. On the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2025, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) organized mass yoga sessions across its Headquarters in Bilaspur and various Areas and Projects. The grand event saw more than 16,000 participants performing yoga at over 30 different locations, spreading the message of health, peace, and balanced living.
Following the Common Yoga Protocol set by the Ministry of AYUSH, the flagship event “Yog Sangam” was held at Vasant Vihar Ground, SECL Headquarters, with over 1,500 participants joining the session. Simultaneously, similar yoga programs were organized in the company’s operational Areas and mining projects, contributing to a total participation of more than 16,000 individuals across SECL.
The venues also streamed the live telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s Yoga Day event held in Visakhapatnam.
The main event at the Headquarters was led by SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Shri Harish Duhan. He was joined by the First Lady of SECL and President of Shraddha Mahila Mandal, Smt. Shashi Duhan, who also actively participated in the yoga session.
In SECL’s operational areas, senior leadership took charge of the celebrations—Director (Technical/Operations) Shri N. Franklin Jayakumar led the event at Hasdeo Area, Director (HR) Shri Biranchi Das at Gevra Area, Director (Finance) Shri D. Sunil Kumar at Raigarh Area, and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Himanshu Jain at Chirimiri Area—further emphasizing the collective commitment of the organization towards holistic well-being and mindfulness through yoga.
Following the yoga sessions, tree plantation drives were conducted under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, promoting the message of environmental protection.
The success of this mega celebration was largely supported by the week-long “Yog Se Yogy” bootcamp held earlier, which included awareness rallies, yoga challenges, workplace yoga, special sessions for women, school yoga programs, and other mass outreach initiatives across SECL’s command areas.

कोरबा। 10 वर्ष पूर्व कोरबा शिक्षा जगत के लिए एक एतिहासिक दिन था, जब जिले के वनांचल क्षेत्र कोरबा-चाम्पा मार्ग खरहरकुड़ा (मड़वारानी) में एक ऐसे विद्यालय का अभ्युदय हुआ, जो ग्रामीण एवं गरीब बच्चों का भविष्य सुधारने का बीड़ा उठाया और सर्वोत्कृष्ट अंग्रेजी सीबीएसई माध्यम से शिक्षा देने लगा। आज यह विद्यालय कोरबा जिले का ही नहीं बल्कि प्रदेश का सर्वोत्कृष्ट विद्यालयों में शुमार है और वटवृक्ष की तरह अपनी छाया में हजारों ग्रामीण एवं निर्धन बच्चों का भविष्य उज्ज्वल बना रहा है। नितेश कुमार मेमोरियल लायंस पब्लिक स्कूल खरहरकुड़ा को कोरबा के जानेमाने समाजसेवी एवं उद्योगपति पीएमजेएफ लायन राजकुमार अग्रवाल एवं उनकी टीम ने इस विद्यालय को सींचा और क्षेत्र की शैक्षणिक उन्नति का अद्भूत मिशाल पेश किया। सर्वशिक्षा विशेषज्ञ अध्यापकों द्वारा यहां हजारों बच्चों का भविष्य गढ़ा जा रहा है। शिक्षा के साथ-साथ खेल और सांस्कृतिक गतिविधियों ने इस विद्यालय की पहचान को पुख्ता किया, जिसके कारण इस विद्यालय को 07 स्टार रैटिंग अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया गया।
19 अप्रैल 2026 को यह विद्यालय अपना 10वां स्थापना दिवस मनाने जा रहा है, जिसमें बालीवुड की प्रख्यात अभिनेत्री एवं राम तेरी गंगा मैली… फेम मंदाकिनी आएंगी और बच्चों के साथ 10वां स्थापना दिवस को सेलिब्रेट करेंगी। अतिथि के रूप में कोरबा के कई जनप्रतिनिधि भी शामिल होंगे।
विद्यालय के चेयरमेन पीएमजेएफ लायन डॉ. राजकुमार अग्रवाल ने बताया कि विद्यालय के 10वां स्थापना दिवस को 19 अप्रैल 2026 रविवार को भव्यता से मनाने का निर्णय लिया गया है, जिसमें बालीवुड की प्रख्यात अभिनेत्री मंदाकिनी को आमंत्रित किया गया है। मुख्यमंत्री विष्णुदेव साय की धर्मपत्नी श्रीमती कौशिल्या देवी साय को भी आमंत्रित किया जा रहा है और संभवत: उनका भी सानिध्य हमारे विद्यालय को प्राप्त होगा। स्थापना दिवस को भव्यता से मनाया जाएगा, जिसमें बच्चों की मनमोहक सांस्कृतिक प्रस्तुति के अलावा कई मनमोहक कार्यक्रम भी कराए जाएंगे और कोरबावासी अभिनेत्री मंंदाकिनी से रूबरू होंगे।

विद्यालय के चेयरमेन पीएमजेएफ लायन डॉ. राजकुमार अग्रवाल ने बताया कि मुख्यमंत्री विष्णुदेव साय की धर्मपत्नी श्रीमती कौशिल्या देवी साय को बतौर मुख्य अतिथि आमंत्रित करने हेतु प्रयास किया जा रहा है और संभवत: हमारे विद्यालय के स्थापना दिवस समारोह में वे अपनी उपस्थिति दर्ज कराएंगी।

कोरबा। कोरबा जिले में अपराधों पर प्रभावी नियंत्रण एवं अवैध गतिविधियों पर अंकुश लगाने के उद्देश्य से पुलिस अधीक्षक कोरबा सिद्धार्थ तिवारी द्वारा दिए गए निर्देशों के पालन में अतिरिक्त पुलिस अधीक्षक एवं नगर पुलिस अधीक्षक के मार्गदर्शन में कोतवाली पुलिस के द्वारा लगातार कार्यवाही किया जा रहा है।
इसी क्रम में “सजग कोरबा, सतर्क कोरबा” अभियान के तहत दिनांक 14.03.2026 को कोतवाली पुलिस के द्वारा असामाजिक तत्वों एवं आरोपियों के विरुद्ध लगातार कार्यवाही की जा रही है। सूचना प्राप्त हुई कि इमली डुग्गू रेलवे कॉलोनी के पास एक व्यक्ति अवैध रूप से मादक पदार्थ गांजा रखकर बिक्री कर रहा है। सूचना पर कोतवाली पुलिस के द्वारा तत्काल मौके पर दबिश दी गई।
कार्यवाही के दौरान आरोपी अश्वनी यादव पिता स्व. छौवरा यादव, उम्र 38 वर्ष, निवासी इमली डुग्गू रेलवे कॉलोनी, थाना कोतवाली, जिला कोरबा (छ.ग.) को अवैध रूप से गांजा रखकर बिक्री करते हुए पकड़ा गया। आरोपी के कब्जे से मादक पदार्थ गांजा जप्त कर उसके विरुद्ध एनडीपीएस एक्ट के तहत कोतवाली पुलिस के द्वारा वैधानिक कार्यवाही करते हुए न्यायिक अभिरक्षा में भेजा गया।
इसी क्रम में कोतवाली पुलिस के द्वारा गौ माता चौक के पास सघन चेकिंग अभियान चलाया गया, जिसमें यातायात नियमों का उल्लंघन करने वाले वाहन चालकों के विरुद्ध मोटर व्हीकल एक्ट की विभिन्न धाराओं के तहत 50 लोगों पर कार्यवाही की गई। साथ ही चेकिंग के दौरान शराब पीकर वाहन चलाने वाले 02 वाहन चालकों के विरुद्ध धारा 185 मोटर व्हीकल एक्ट के तहत कोतवाली पुलिस के द्वारा वैधानिक कार्यवाही की गई।
जिले में कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखने एवं अवैध गतिविधियों पर अंकुश लगाने हेतु कोतवाली पुलिस के द्वारा इस प्रकार की कार्यवाही आगे भी लगातार जारी रहेगी।
Opportunities across engineering, management and technical disciplines
Bilaspur/Korba. South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), one of the largest coal-producing companies in India, has invited applications for the engagement of 1,600 apprentices for the year 2026–27. The apprenticeship training will be provided for a period of one year at SECL’s various underground and opencast mines as well as other establishments.
The initiative aims to provide industry-oriented practical training to young graduates and diploma holders from engineering, technical and general streams, enabling them to gain hands-on experience and enhance their future employment prospects.
As per the notification, 500 positions are available for Graduate Apprentices and 1,100 positions for Technician Apprentices. The opportunities are available in various disciplines including Mining, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, as well as BBA, BCA, B.Com and B.Sc (Chemistry).
Notably, the highest number of positions—900—have been earmarked for Technician Apprentice (Mining Engineering), reflecting SECL’s focus on developing skilled manpower for the mining sector.
